Documentary Narrative:
Artist Dragana Jurisic travels to the town of Bijeljina, Bosnia to stage a short film in the style of a cult Western director Hari Dzekson. In meeting the local community, she asks the town and herself to confront the ghosts of the past.

Fatherland, Sarajevo Film Festival 2026
Paweł Pawlikowski’s new film, Fatherland (2026), opened the 32nd Sarajevo Film Festival. .. it might even be considered a narrative vignette as it depicts numerous layered pathways for the viewer to draw down. But it has a beginning, middle and end. Families handle personal grief in their own way. And the sets depicted and pinpointed the harrowing loss suffered by all.

And within the hour the streets of Sarajevo teemed with people. The film festival was underway with Emily Watson serving as the jury president for the Competition Programme.
The opening ceremony was held in Susan Sontag Square, with the red carpet laid down in the front of the Sarajevo National Theatre. Hosted by Kerim Čutuna. Festival director Jovan Marjanović presented the opening film

An in progress scroll through the days of the festival ...
A shout out for the Sarajevo Europa Hotel Terrace Staff. I stopped for morning coffee and left my phone behind me. Remembered it 4 hours later. Legged it back from the far side of the city. I was sure it was long gone, and I had only myself to blame!! And lo and behold the guys had it waiting for me at reception. I wasn't a guest but they had me on camera at the table and they'd been googling me to see if they could contact me. Honestly, where would you get service like that in this day and age.
